  13. I have a SupraFax-modem 144LC/14,400 bps Fax.V42bis.MNP 2-5. I have ran 
  14. the MSD hardware diagnostics program, and for the modem COM port, this is 
  15. the result:

  17. Carrier Detect (CD)    Yes            Clear to Send(CTS)  Yes
  18. Ring Indicator (RI)    Yes            UART chip used 8250.            
  19. Data Set Ready        Yes

  21. The modem cannot connect to the online service, it does not initialise 
  22. possible because the modem is permanently on carrier detect. Does anybody know 
  23. how to disable the carrier detect on the SupraFax modem? How can the modem 
  24. be initialised and made to dial in this situation. Use Terminal in 
  25. windows, it dial without echoing the initialisation and the `OK.'When it 
  26. dail it also do not show any prompt from the romote system to which is 
  27. seemmed connected to. It does not dial at all using RFD Mail 1.23. I am 
  28. running windows 3.11 on enhanced mode (on a Brother 486DX, 250MBHDD, 8MB-RAM) 
  29. and the front-end I am using for the on-line service is RFD mail. Does supra 
  30. have an email or fax support line.
